We encourage you to do 3 - 4 classes per week. At least 2 classes for maximum physical and mindset results. You can train at our centres for one inclusive monthly or term fee.
Our current 12+ program is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), which includes martial arts and functional strength exercises. Suitable for ages 12+ and adult groups. We will soon be opening up subjects specifically for adults.
Yes, JK Taekwondo private lessons are very popular. You can work one-on-one with a private instructor to hone a difficult skill, achieve a specific goal or just catch up on a class. Please contact Christopher Chong for details.
Yes, of course. Our social events are never compulsory, but always fun. From dress-up days to open nights, we’re always happy to see you. Our Birthday Party is open for all the members.
Yes, this is likely. Your body is communicating to you that it needs exercise and conditioning. Body strength and toning are lost through inactivity. Similarly, exercise strengthens and tones your muscles.
Don’t skip class! Get the blood circulating in your muscles with simple stretching and light taekwondo conditioning. As your muscles become stronger they’ll adapt to strenuous activity.
Eat ‘living waters and live foods’. That is, foods high in water content such as fruit and vegetables. These are quickly absorbed by the body, require little energy to digest (which saves that energy for training) and convert quickly to usable energy. The water content helps with hydration before and after training.
With consistent practise, it should take you about two-and-a-half years or 10 cycles to reach your black belt.
Yes, very likely. Proper nutrition and exercise will reduce body fat and tone your muscles. If weight loss isn’t your goal, speak to us about tailoring a diet and exercise program to bulk up rather than slim down.
Practise ‘power breathing’. Breathe in to the count of 1, hold for 4 counts, and slowly release the breath to the count of 2. It really is as easy as breathing! Just remember the ratio of 1:4:2.
No. Martial arts has its roots in self-defense, but we teach children that violence is not the answer to their problems.
Some kids who come to us are resistant at first, but martial arts instruction is both fun and active. Many kids think that martial artists are cool and that can help them stick with it even if it’s hard at first.
Yes. Kids who study martial arts learn that hard and persistent work pays off. Each small success helps children believe in themselves and have faith they can achieve their next goal.
